F-4 Community News

Who would have thought that we are at the end of Term 1 already? What a fantastic term it has been. It has been great to see all F-4 students settle into what has been a relatively ‘normal’ school term considering the last two years. There have been many events over the term including the Foundation and Year 1 Stay Backs, the Camp Quality Puppet Show, a visit from the Fire Brigade for the Foundation students, swimming lessons for all students across F-4 and our F-4 Assembly. It has been great to finally have events such as these take place this term and we hope we can continue to have many more throughout the year.

Thank you to all the parents and caregivers who celebrated our learning with us on Monday morning at the F-4 Assembly. It was great to finally welcome you back on site and share our learning together in person.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to announce some exciting news. This year for our F-4 Concert, we have decided to do something a little different than just a dance concert. We are excited to inform you that we will be performing Seussical™ Kids! Seussical™ Kids is great fun for the whole family with young performers portraying characters from the popular Dr Seuss books. The F-4 Production will take place in Week 10 of Term 3. More details will be provided at a later date.

We would like to wish you a safe and happy Easter.

Foundation

Writing

The Foundation students have been working on writing decodable sentences. They have been focusing on remembering to include a capital letter, space out the words and use punctuation.

Look at how amazing their work is!

Fire Brigade Visit

This week, the Kyabram Fire Brigade came to visit the Foundation students as part of their Inquiry unit ‘People who help us’. Students had lots of fun dressing up, seeing the truck and spraying the water.

Swimming

Foundation students have had a lovely week in Echuca for their swimming program.

Years 1 and 2

In the Resilience Project, we recently made mindful jars. The students added glitter to a jar of water and reflected on how they felt when they watched the glitter swirling in the jar.

In Religious Education we have been learning about Holy Week. We have focussed on the major events that led up to Jesus’ death and resurrection. The students made a booklet about each of these events.

Over the past week we have been travelling by bus to the Echuca heated pool. The students have had so much fun improving their swimming skills and the teachers have been very proud of their efforts.

We hope you all have a great Easter holiday period and enjoy time together and come back rested ready for another great term of learning.
