Things to know

BUILDING WORKS COMMENCE THESE HOLIDAYS & INTO NEXT TERM

After waiting for almost two years we are finally 'breaking ground' as they say on the refurbishment of the school's main building toilet facility.

In 2020, Minister Merlino approved funding of $243,665 to provide modern facilities at Ripponlea Primary School.

The facilities will include additional toilets for community and staff use, a shower and an accessible toilet in the main building.

Additional spaces adjoining the facility will hopefully include a new first aid room, resource room and much needed storage.

Things are going to be very messy for a few months but we will all manage with the anticipation of having facilities that belong in the modern era!

TRIPLE P- POSITIVE PARENTING PROGRAM

Since 2020, the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program has been providing a range of supports to families in Victoria. These are self-paced learning modules on a range of topics to support our children. They have recently released a program to help children learn to manage and reduce anxious feelings. We know how difficult it has been to source additional mental health and wellbeing services.

The link below might be a very good start to:

  • Online support for parents of anxious kids (6-14 years)
  • Find out the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of child and teen anxiety
  • Learn more about what’s helpful and what can accidentally add to anxiety
  • Start applying new strategies immediately
  • New online program based on proven principles
  • Improve your child’s emotional wellbeing in the long term
  • Reduce your own stress, too!

COMPASS NEW FEATURES ON THE APP

Thanks to a few parents who contacted the school, we have uncovered some new features on the COMPASS app, which might be the cause of some families encountering difficulties posting absence notes and providing consent for excursions and incursions.

The app features a new key at the bottom of your mobile device, which includes:

                                Home - Schedule- Shortcuts- Notifications-More

BULK BILLING PSYCHOLOGISTS ONLINE

Mental health services can be very costly, but we have found a bulk billing online service that can help.
