Year 7

Year 7 Camp

Camp was incredible fun! Students had smiles on their faces throughout the Camp and they were a real pleasure to be with. Lord Somers Camp situated on the Mornington Peninsula offers a huge range of activities set in ideal natural surrounds. The Camp was engaging and exciting from stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking to pizza making and screen printing. The camp was the highlight of Term 1 for many, including staff!

It was such a joy to see students encouraging each other and challenging themselves mentally and physically. Connection and teamwork were a strong focus of the Camp and it was inspiring to see the students work together. It was wonderful to share in the excitement of the concert and to have a chat with many students about their Camp highlights.  I loved the designs of each of the Homeroom t-shirts.

As a staff, we are very proud of the spirit our students showed and we know that wonderful memories of this time will remain.

Congratulations to all students for their excellent behaviour, teamwork, communication, encouragement and support of one another and staff; their resilience, positivity, willingness to listen and learn new skills; and for extending themselves to make new friendships. They all showed courage and accepted challenges. We couldn’t ask for more!

On behalf of all staff who participated, a heartfelt thanks for making this year’s Camp totally awesome and for making great memories to have forever!

Year 7 Awards

We proudly acknowledge  the following students who received these awards during our final Assembly for the term today

Firefly Awards: The Butterflies will be noticed. So brilliant. So colourful. Their talents so obvious. However, let us not forget the Fireflies. Their triumphs are quiet and unsuspecting. Their gifts might even go completely unnoticed.

Fireflies shine from within; it may be a kind or caring word or a hug when needed.
