Sports Update

Armidale Diocesan Cross Country

Once again, I can very proudly say that St Joseph’s, Glen Innes students are outstanding! Friday 6 May saw 33 students travel to Barraba to participate in the Diocesan Cross Country Carnival. Our biggest achievement of the day was when I was approached by an official who had been working all day at the finish line. This person made special mention of OUR students for the beautiful manners and sportsmanship at the finish line. Congratulations, students, parents and staff! Thank you to our extremely supportive parents, especially Cass Copeland and Julie Watson for being our parent volunteers out on the course.

All students gave their all and participated to a high level. Special mention to the following students on their top 6 placings, which qualified them to compete at the Polding Championships at Eastern Creek on 7 June:

1st - Aila McBain (10 year girls)

1st - Fletcher Barratt (11 year boys)

2nd - Rosemary Wright (8/9 year girls)

6th - Sam Barratt (8/9 year boys)

5th - Bronte Ellis (11 year girls)
