From the Principal

It has been an exceptionally busy term and the longest period of face-to-face learning in two years. I congratulate all students, staff, parents and families for managing the juggle as we settled back into onsite learning and all of the Term One events.

I have three important reminders for all parents as we conclude this very successful term.

First, Welcome Drinks for all families, new, current and past, will be held this Friday 1 April on the lawns of myPEC at the Senior School from 6.00-8.00pm.  Over one hundred guests have already accepted our invitation after we were forced to postpone the event earlier this term.  We welcome your attendance.

Second, as case numbers continue to climb this week at Myrniong, I encourage you all to book a COVID-19 vaccination for your child.  Over 50 per cent of all children aged 5 to 11 have now received a first dose, with many now due for a second dose (eight weeks after the first). In particular, as we approach school holidays and the weather cools down, it is important to take steps to minimise the impact of COVID-19. Vaccines are an effective way to protect your child, and the community.   The Department of Health website provides a number of resources with further information about seeking COVID-19 vaccination.  Vaccines are widely available and you can find a participating clinic and make an appointment by visiting the Vaccine Clinic Finder.  Thank you for your efforts to keep your child and the wider school community safe.

Finally, our Easter Service will be held next Wednesday week 6 April at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church at 2.00pm.  The Easter Service’s dress code is blazer, tie and long pants or shorts for boys and blazer and summer dress for girls.  Students are requested to bring a gold coin for the collection. If you would like to join us, please contact Reception. It should be a very fitting way to conclude an excellent term’s learning.
