Resource Centre

Students who have overdue library books up to the 31st August have received invoices for the cost of the item/s as they are well beyond the due date. Before sending the invoice to parents, these students had received multiple email reminders which automatically register in the Oliver Library Management System, to return their overdue books and many have had face to face reminders but have still failed to return their books.

We would rather have the books returned than have to send invoices for the cost of those items to parents. When borrowing books from the library, students are responsible for the return of the items they have borrowed by the return date which is stamped in the front of the books. We provide many opportunities for students to return their books or extend the date for borrowing. We are supported in this by the English Faculty and their teachers who regularly bring their classes to the Resource Centre to exchange books or extend the due date of their books. In addition to these measures we also remind students and parents through the Newsletter to check that books borrowed from the Resource Centre are returned.

I wish to thank all of those students and parents who have been prompt in resolving any issues regarding overdue books and ask those who have not yet responded to follow up with their students to return their books promptly. We would also like the books to be returned in good order otherwise the cost of the damaged book to be replaced will be applied.

We also remind all students to regularly check their emails for the reminder notices to return their books.

A shipment of new books has been received and processed and those books are now on display in the Resource Centre for students to borrow.
