Principal Message

The last few weeks have seen three flood events in our region impacting on our families, and with weather forecasts as they are, we may be in for more. Staff have been asked to continue our Covid 19 education continuity plan by having a week’s work up in Google classroom to support students who may have to be away from school.

If any families need any support, please reach out to us. We are concerned at this time that we now have students who have had to cope through all that Covid 19 has delivered and now we have an ongoing flood situation which is only adding to the burden and stress, impacting on resilience. We are here for you and want to help.

Congratulations to your Year 12’s who finished their HSC last week. They are a group who have shown amazing resilience in the face of all the disruption of Covid 19 over the past three years. We look forward to celebrating with them at their formal this coming Friday.

Our Drama students’ production of Twelfth Night has brought Shakespeare to life for the audiences, thanks to theirs’ and Mr Mack’s efforts. There is another set of shows this coming weekend and we encourage you to come along for a great night’s entertainment.

Term 4 is a time of preparation for the next year’s learning. It is important that the messages our students are hearing focus on maintaining their effort and application to their learning in Term 4, that it not be seen as a gradual slide downwards to the end of the year. If anything, it is a time to refocus energies, stay focused on learning goals and aim to be the best learners and people they can be. So lifting effort, not reducing it.

Our students have been reminded of the need to stay focused on learning and teachers will be working with them to achieve this. It is important that the messaging at home is in support of this. Thank you for your support with this.

You have been sent through Compass a copy of the updated Mobile Phone Policy, including the rationale for the adjustments. It is operational as of 7th November. We appreciate feedback on it as we progress through the next five weeks. We will refine this policy based on the feedback received.
