Year 5 and 6 Community Boeing Incursion

Last Friday, the Year 5 and 6 Learning Community participated in an incursion facilitated by a team of engineers from Boeing. They learnt about the work engineers do and participated in a competition to design and make a rocket that could fly the furthest.

I liked building the rocket and seeing it shoot up into the sky. Ayva

It was fun to learn about the different parts that make up the rocket. There are many things that we learnt. Addison

I think it was actually really fun. We made our own rocket. They showed us some videos about Boeing. It was just very inspirational for people that want to do engineering when people grow up. James

It was a fun activity to do with Boeing. We made rockets to see how far they could go. My group actually won the competition. Our rocket went the furthest out of all the rockets including Mr Palanca’s.  Angeline

On Friday we had a Boeing incursion. It was fun building the rockets in a team of 7. I learnt a lot about how Boeing creates and designs rockets. It was enjoyable seeing created rockets being shot up into the sky. Keagan

Boeing came to Corpus Christi where they showed us how they made jets and what they did. They helped us make rockets and each team had a contest where the winning team got patches as an award. We had a group photo after they worked with us. Eamon

On Friday we had a Boeing incursion where we had to create our own rocket ship. My team's rocket ship was called the Hola 808 and luckily the design was good enough to win. Our rocket ship flew a total of 15 m. Sophie C
