Grade 5/6 Students 

5/6A - Miss Lee

56A has been busy, busy busy this term so far. Chance and Probability, Literacy Circles and Georgraphy tasks have provided so many rich learning tasks. In writing, we are constructing biographies. Grade 6’s are writing their own auto-biography to capture their life so far, while Grade 5’s have selected a famous person to write a biography about. Here we have Rory busy at work investigating singer, Billie Eilish and Savannah gathering information on singer, Harry Styles. We are looking forward to the full range of biographical presentations that are coming up in Week 6. The students are putting together some great work. 

5/6B - Mr Sankovic

5/6B have been looking at chance, probability and data. We created a spinner and then calculated the theoretical probability of each section coming up. Following this, students recorded the data and calculated the experimental probability and then compared the two data sets through tables and graphs. Fractions, decimals, percentages, data, chance and graphing all within the one task!

5/6C - Mr Josh

With a little help from my friends!

This week in 5/6C we have been focusing on angles. We have looked at different shapes and the interior angles of them all. We even created our own wheel and drew lines to calculate interior angles. Here is Isla G from 5/6C and Josh K from 5/6D working together using a protractor to find out the degree of angles. 

Holding out for a Hero!

In 5/6C we have created some Canva biography posters for some female role models in the class following a resilience & respect lesson. They have turned out amazing and are going to be displayed all around the classroom. Here is Olivia’s poster all about netballer Kate Moloney. Great work Liv!

 5/6D - Mr Jared

Pie anyone?! Amelia converted the data on her spinner, so that she could convert it to a pie chart. Really impressive !!

Angles art! Josh has been busy creating artworks which contain all of the types of angles. He then had to accurately measure them. Nice work!
