Grade 1 Students

Celebrating our outstanding Ones!

1A - Miss Morrison

We have been refreshing our place value knowledge during Math sessions. Here we are playing ‘Place Value Houses’ - you have to use the MAB to show how many hundreds, tens and ones are needed to make the total number. We love using hands on materials!

We also love reading our class novel and were very lucky to have one of our superstar students read a chapter to his classmates. Rowan did an amazing job of reading aloud and using expression to captivate his audience’s attention – well done Row!

1B - Miss Lou

Last week the Grade 1s and Foundations went on an excursion to see Pevan and Sarah in concert. We had a blast singing and dancing along to all the educational songs. We had such an amazing day that we decided to write a recount about our exciting day!!

Over the last fortnight 1B have been revisiting the concept of ‘Place Value’ and have worked on presenting numbers in their expanded form. Take a look at the gorgeous donut below!

1C - Miss Wong

Grade 1's have been exploring informative texts and have enjoyed learning about different Australian animals. Firstly, we researched using books and videos to create our fact files. Then we worked on putting the information in the correct text structure and writing sentences using correct grammar and sentence structure.
