Dunhelen

Ms Jacquelyne Armstrong

Welcome back and I look forward to a wonderful last term for all Dunhelen students. It will be a busy term and I do hope the students have returned refreshed and ready to give school their ‘best go’.

Dunhelen Assembly

At Assembly this week, I presented students with a few important tips to help get them through the last term.

1. Be organised – Term 4 will fly by and assessments will pile up if you don’t keep on top of them.

2. Check your emails and read the notices - There are lots of important notices coming out that require you to submit information to us including:

  • 2023 Homeroom selection survey
  • Colours Nominations
  • 2023 Captains Nominations

3. Get involved in everything

The school offers a lot of wonderful opportunities to learn new things, meet new people and try new ideas.  Becoming involved will make school even better.

4. Support each other

Be a positive influence. Offer to help others, say please and thank you, do your best, give positive affirmations (remember what goes around comes around), and SHOW UP for each other!

At next week’s Assembly, I will be announcing the details regarding applications for College Colours. These are applied for and awarded to students who have shown commitment to the College in: Culture, House, Service and Sport.

We will also announce details for Year 8 students who wish to apply for a captaincy role for 2023. There are a lot of opportunities to take on a formal leadership role.

Uniform and Mobile Phone Reminder

A reminder to students who choose to wear the summer uniform: shorts and dress lengths are to the knee for all students and blazers are to be worn to and from school every day.

Students have also been reminded that mobile phones will be confiscated between the hours of 8.45am and 3.15pm. If a student has a mobile at school they should be locked away in their locker for the day, this is to keep the item safe.

House Activities

This term, Dunhelen will continue with House lunchtime activities. To start with, there is a make-up artist competition. Students can get all the information in the bulletin and need to register their interests. This is a fun opportunity to show off their creativity and flair. All House activities are being coordinated and run by our Dunhelen Captains (with a little assistance) and I would like to thank them for putting in the hard work.
