Foundation 2023 Orientation Sessions

Last Friday we welcomed the new 2023 Foundation students. Students arrived at 9.30am and spent 30 mins in the playroom colouring in, building blocks and using their imaginations with the many fun toys. This enabled some connections to begin and allowed students to get to know the space and each other. Miss Slater who will be the Foundation teacher in 2023 read the students a book about starting school.

The students then moved to the hall for some fun PMP with the St James Occupational Therapist, Ashley.  The Foundation 2023 students will attend their second orientation session this Thursday at 9.30am. We look forward to welcoming them again this week.

CONFIRMATION

We thank all the families that attended the Faith night last Tuesday. It was a lovely opportunity to come together in faith, and be in dialogue with each other in strengthening our understanding of the sacrament of Confirmation.

As the Year 6 students continue to prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation in class, we ask all families to keep them in their prayers. Next Friday the students will participate in a reflection day in final preparation for the sacrament on Thursday 17th of November. We will also welcome Bishop Tony who will talk to the students about the importance of Confirmation.

CONFIRMATION CHOIR

We are very excited to start up again, the St James Choir to sing at the Sacrament of Confirmation and we invite all students in Year 3 to 5 to join the choir.

This requires students to attend the Sacrament of Confirmation on Thursday 17th of November at St Joan of Arc. Students are to be dropped off at 5:40pm in their full school uniform and be collected at 7pm.

We will meet each week on a Monday and Friday during the first half of lunch in the Library.

GEN BRYANT

We are very excited to Welcome Gen Bryant to the school Next Friday, the 4th of November to run a full day incursion with the students. Each level will engage in a session with Gen where they will explore our faith through song and reflection.

At 2:45pm the whole school will gather to share what we have done and we invite all families to come.

Prayer/Reflection Group

Last Friday we held our first prayer reflection session in the Library led by our school Chaplain, Corey Payton. This is a beautiful opportunity to gather in reflective prayer and meditation, to take a moment in our busy lives and invite God to be by our side.

We will hold our next session on Friday 18th of November at 2:45pm in the Library. We look forward to seeing you then.
