VCAL Update
Dear Parents and Carers,
Congratulations to the Year 12s who have finished their course! We are all so proud of you and wish you all the best for the future.
Year 11 students are preparing for their end of year presentations and practice job interviews. Students should be aware of their session time and have gone through this in class. If they have forgotten their time or wish to confirm they can find this under Resources in their PDS class. The final presentation and interviews are a requirement to completing the VCAL Intermediate Certificate.
All student work is due on the 2nd November. This date is not flexible. Students who are unable to submit all work to a satisfactory standard by this date will be required to organise an SSG with their Student Achievement Leader to discuss a plan for 2023.
On Monday students will be attending an excursion at ACMI. Students will explore how screen culture reflects and impacts social values of the time and gets them to ask questions about who is behind the lens, and how this impacts how people, places and issues are represented. This talk considers changing representations through genre film, TV, as well as videogames, and looks at how contemporary storytelling is giving voice to the under-represented. Students should meet at Frankston train station at 8:20am in full EMC uniform. Any student who is catching a different train line or meeting/ departing at another station needs to pre organise this with Miss Wade.
