Timetable Changes

Thank you to all of the students who have been patient with the timetable changes over the past week.  We understand that change can be hard but, sometimes, it is inevitable; all changes have been made to ensure a smooth-running classrooms and delivery of curriculum content.

Continuation of Learning

If you child is away from school for an extended period, please ensure they make contact with their classroom teachers regarding work to be completed at home.  All classroom work is uploaded to Connect, a platform all students can access remotely.  If you are having trouble accessing the content, we are only happy to help.

Externally Set Tasks

Currently, the Year 12 students are sitting their ESTs and they will continue into next week. Our staff have been working hard in providing revision materials in all classes to ensure our students are prepared for these assessments; we look forward to marking these tasks and comparing your results with other students across the state.

OLNA results

OLNA results have been received by the College and it has been exciting to share the news of success with the students.  Many students are firmly on the pathway to achieving their WACE at the end of their time here at WACOA - Cunderdin. We are using the feedback from the assessments to direct our intervention groups to ensure we continue to achieve success in this area.  Formal letters will be sent home to parents in the coming weeks regarding your child's results.

Exams - Year 11 and 12 ATAR

Many courses are now moving into revision for the exam period as the final assessments for Unit 1 and 3 are completed.  We encourage students to take advantage of the revision materials provided by their teacher and seek feedback if unsure about aspects of the course content.  On the completion of exams, the ATAR students will commence Unit 2 and 4; this will be a particularly busy period for the 12's as they complete their content at the end of Term 3.

Mathematics with Ms Borshoff

This term the Year 12's have been preparing themselves during class sessions for the ESTs, that began in Week 3. They have been reviewing previous examination sheets to help them identify the format and possible concepts that will be presented in the assessment. The students have been studying scatterplots: bivariate data, variables and their associations, as well as revising a variety of graphs in practical situations.

The Year 11's are currently studying Measurement. They have been learning about the various metric units of mass, volume and capacity and relating it to practical situations such as reading food labels and measuring the volume of food items and capacity of containers.

The Year 11 ATAR group have continued to study online via the School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE). They are currently working on investigations for networks and graphs, Pythagoras’ Theorem, surface area and volume.

Please do not hesitate to make contact via phone or email if you have any concerns regarding your child's progress in the classroom.
