Success in the National Gymnastics Championships
During the week of 18-25 May, Nicolas Chanturia of 8E competed in the National Gymnastics Championships on the Gold Coast, QLD in the Under 14 Category.
Nic had to attend 2 independent trials, competing against many other athletes to gain a spot in the Victorian Team of which he was successful.
Nic performed at such a high level that he was extremely successful in the championships. Nic achieved:
First place and Under 14 Australian Champion in; The Rings, Floor and Vault
Second place; All Around and Parallel Bars
Third place; Pommel Horse and High Bar
These incredible results are a culmination of hours of hard work and dedication and a well deserved outcome for a more than worthy athlete. Congratulations Nic and we are looking forward to seeing how your future in the sport progresses.

Term 2 Inter-School Sport
Term 2 was a big one for inter-school sport at Patterson River Secondary College. We had many teams competing across all year levels in AFL, netball, badminton, soccer and basketball. Well done to all of the students who represented the school and a big thank you to the teachers who gave up their time to train and coach these teams.
A special mention must go the to the Year 8 Boys AFL team coached by Mr McCall and Mr Hayes. They defended their NPD title from 2021 and this year will have the opportunity to compete again at the SMR Championships in Term 3. Well done and good luck to this great team!
Year 9 and 10 Boys Footy
On Tuesday 14 June the Year 9 and 10 Boys Footy team travelled out to Lloyd Park to take on five other schools in the yearly competition.
The boys played five games throughout the day where they battled hard each game. We came up against some strong opposition but the boys did not take a backwards step, showing that if they continually competed with their best effort they could match it with the other teams.
At the end of the day we finished with two wins and three losses, however the team can be proud of their efforts as they played five hard games of footy.
It was great to see the boys the next day at school, who explained they were a little sore from the big day but had a great time!
Year 9 and 10 Girls Footy
Well done to the Intermediate girls Footy team!
On June 13 at Lloyd Park in Langwarrin our Year 9 and 10 girls competed in the Northern Peninsula Division Interschool AFL football.
The day was wet and cold, however this did not stop the girls representing the College with determination and resilience!
