EDUCATION WEEK – Love to Learn
As a part of Education Week 2022 we will have Twisted Science coming to Echuca East on Tuesday 24th May to help us celebrate.
Each Level will have their own show that will go for around 50 minutes, there will be no charge for this incursion. Keep an eye out in next week’s Newsletter and on Facebook for photos of the fun.
NATIONAL SIMULTANEOUS STORY TIME
Wednesday 25th May
National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. Now in its 22nd successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children's book that explores age-appropriate themes, and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6.
To celebrate this special event, the Preps are going to library where they will have the story “Family Tree” read to them followed by a craft activity. Students will receive a special surprise gift as part of the excursion.
Simultaneously, Lindy Burke will read the story to all Easties at school at 11am. It is sure to be a great way to celebrate the value and fun of reading books.
