College Captains’ Report
Our term started off as expected for any Year 12 cohort, SACs SACs SACs. Hitting the ground running, there were SACs on the first day back to school, leaving us no time to get settled back in. However, we did know before the year even started, that this term was going to be packed with SACs and many events that would allow our year to catch their breath.
For starters, ANZAC Day was the Monday before we came back, and as per tradition, Yashasvi and Darcy, represented the school at a commemoration ceremony where we laid a wreath and paid our respects to those who lost their lives, in service of our country. On Tuesday, Glen Eira hosted an assembly for all teachers and students to pay their respects. We had a reading of The Ode, while wreaths were laid, and respects were paid.
Later in the term the Year 12s had another breather, this time it was the athletics carnival. As this was the last sports day for much of our year, we decided to go all out, and dress up and have the most fun we can. There were cheerleaders, fairies and AFL stars, just to mention a few.
We’re all looking forward to the upcoming holidays, which will provide some rest ahead of our final full term as school students.
