Gimmel Fundraisers

Gimmel have had an action packed Term 3 raising funds for Eagles Wings China as part of their Digital Technologies class. Every event was exciting for the participants and organisers.
The Book Week Dress-Up was very successful as students came dressed as their favourite character from a book. There were several comic book and superhero characters, ladies and gents from period works and history, a family of sheep, characters from fantasy and fairy tales, and many more. Prizes for best dressed went to Clark Jackson (P-3), Kaitlyn Moritz (4-6), Lily Jacyna (7-10) and the dapper Mr Jackson for the staff entries. Kind donations for the well-loved books of yesteryear from the library also helped make a significant contribution to the money made from the event (Thank you Mrs Tresize).
The BBQ and Pasta day was amazing and many hands made light work of the cooking and serving. A huge thanks to Kate Scholar for lending a hand in the kitchen and helping to produce some amazing spaghetti bolognese with the kids.
The Lego competition had entries across a range of primary years where some interesting flying machines were put on display. Age and creativity were assessed in judging. A good number of notable works were mentioned with first place going to Mason Janetzki and second place going to Joshua Chiera.
The cakes at the Cupcake Sale were popular and for a good reason. They were delicious and sold like 'hot'...well...'cup' cakes.
The Cake Competition saw some very impressive decorating skills put to use with man-eating sharks, butterflies in a garden, Spiderman's car, an American beach scene, a gummy bear fort and other floral pieces to mention a few. The winner will be announced in Week 10.
The Lolly Jar Guessing Competition will also be announced in Week 10. Perhaps we should include a toothbrush with the prize jar.
A huge thank you to our Canteen parents for donating money from last Friday's window sales to the cause as well.
Please enjoy some photos of the competition entries. The total amount made through the fundraising activities was $440.80 and we will be forwarding the money to the Eagles Wings China project ASAP to help give orphan children with disabilities a better environment to grow up in.
