Primary Mini Olympics
Thirteen primary students represented Mildura Christian College at the Sunraysia South Mini Olympics on Tuesday September 11th. To qualify, students had to meet a minimum standard as well as being first in their age group at our school athletics carnival. Primary students are permitted two individual events and one relay.
Four athletes - Sophie Lim, Joseph Kirirua-Gill, Alicia Kiley, and Isabelle Wyld - qualified for the Loddon Mallee Region finals by finishing in the top two for their event. These are to be held in Bendigo on Monday October 15th. Both of our relay teams ran well against older students and the girls team managed third place.
Congratulations to all competitors and thank you to the staff and parents who were at the event.
Secondary SSVS Athletics
Eight secondary students represented Mildura Christian College at the School Sport Victoria Sunraysia Athletics on Wednesday September 12th. Athletes were limited to five individual events.
Pawu Kirirua Gill had an outstanding day winning his age group championship after earning a 1st place in long jump, 2nd in 400m run, and 3rd in 100m, 200m, and triple jump. His birlliant performance meant he qualified for the Loddon Mallee Region finals to be held in Bendigo on Thursday October 11th. Both of our relay teams managed to keep their baton changes clean and the boys benefited from dual disqualifications to finish a creditable fourth running against older students.
