Message from the Principal
We have enjoyed a very productive and energetic Term One. Our students and staff have flourished being onsite together and we have certainly enjoyed having parents and families back on site and in the classrooms.
I am looking forward to celebrating this Wednesday evening with our Prep and new families at the Welcome Dinner. Special thanks to the Community Association and Year One families for hosting this important event.
For those families that have nominated to make three equal payments for school fees, your first payment is due to be paid by this Thursday.
The Building Project continues to be on track. Work will continue throughout the holidays so there will be noticeable changes when we return in Term Two. Term One finishes this Thursday 1 April at 3.20pm.
A reminder to return your Easter raffle tickets and place your hot cross bun orders online by this Wednesday 31 April. Thank you to all the families who have supported our special events throughout the term.
I am looking forward to finishing my treatment over the holidays and being back fulltime for a few weeks. I will also be having surgery next term and I will keep you updated with my progress.
Parent Class Helpers
Next term we look forward to welcoming parents into all classrooms as parent helpers. If you would like to be involved and have completed the Parent Helper course, please notify your child's class teacher of your availability.
Rotary Baton Relay
To celebrate 100 years of Rotary in Australia, the Rotary Club of Mitcham will be participating in a Baton Relay between 10:30am and 12:30pm on Sunday 11 April, 2021. As part of this event they are inviting students and their families to carry the baton from Whitehorse Farmers Market, located at Whitehorse Council Offices 379 Whitehorse Road Nunawading to Natalie’s Restaurant, 669 Maroondah Highway Mitcham. They are seeking a total of 7 students and their families from St John's Primary School Mitcham.

Lunch Orders
The day for school lunch orders has changed to Thursday each week. This will commence on the first Thursday of Term Two. Lunches can still be ordered through the same site online and pizza will be a weekly special.
School Tours and Enrolments for 2022
I have been conducting many school tours over the past few weeks. We always receive great feedback on how beautifully the students are working, so polite and well behaved. Please invite any friends and neighbours to come along for a tour at anytime. Enrolments for Prep 2022 are filling fast. If you have a younger child who is ready to begin school next year, please complete the enrolment form and hand it in at the office or email it to me.
