Year 7 Camp
Year 7 Camp
Last week, the year 7’s went to Camp Weekaway, where there’s canoes, a maze, laser tag, rafts to build, a flying fox, an initiative course, to name a few. On the first day, after we arrived, we had a tour, then our first activity was the initiative course. It had lots of different levels, and we split into our activity groups to do it. There was a spider web, lots of ropes to swing on and logs to walk across. Group A (my group) had canoeing first, in the huge dam close to the dorms. The next day, group A had the maze up first, and it wasn’t just go in, come out. We had 3 games involving teams, and finding objects inside the maze. Next up for group A was raft building, we split into two groups and tried to make a raft that could make it to a small island in the middle of the dam and back. One of my favourite activities was next: Laser tag! We had a large area, med boxes for when we got tagged too many times and two teams, red and blue. Finally, we did the flying fox, which was incredible! Being terrifying and fun at the same time, it was an adrenaline boost for me to say the least! I would have gone on it all day! I think Camp Weekaway was amazing, and I could find lots of my fellow year 7’s who would agree!

On the 3rd of February year 7 A, B and C left the school at 9:00am.
We were on the bus for 1 and ½ hours, and we arrived at 10:30am.
The activities were laser tag, flying fox, a maze and so much more.
In the end we all had an amazing time, big thanks to Ms Pellegrino, Mr Moyle, Mr Thorn, Mr Valentine, Mr Sanders, Ms Hewes, Ms Taylor all the helpers that came, and a massive thanks to camp weekaway for letting us come on camp in this devastating time.
It was so much fun coming and we all wish we could come again.
