Each year you need to update the medical plans for your child/ren. Reminders have been sent home to families of children with Asthma to complete Action Plans and replace expired Ventolin medication.

School Photos

Parents are asked to keep Tuesday 30th March free as all children will be involved in school photos.

School Absences

Please note that all school attendance/rolls are taken before 9.00am for the morning session and before 2.30pm for the afternoon session. If a child/ren attend school after 9am they will be recorded as being absent for the morning.

Please notify the school before 9.30am if your child will not be attending. You can ring the school on 9755 4222 and leave a message on the phone by selecting Option 1 or you can fill out the form on the Skoolbag App under Eforms, Absentee form. If you do not advise the office you will receive a SMS from the school.

This is a legal requirement that all teachers must follow. All absences are recorded in your child's school report.

Late and Early Leave Pass

Children arriving late to school (after 9am) need to be signed in by their parent at the front office using the Ipad. A pass will be printed and this is given to the teacher. If picking up your child/ren early you must sign them out using the Ipad at the front office and collect them from the office.

Camps, Sports & Excursions Fund (CSEF)

If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. The allowance is paid to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions or sporting activities for the benefit of your child. The annual CSEF amount per student is $125 for primary school students and $225 for secondary school students.

If you have previously applied for the CSEF in 2020, you do not need to complete an application form in 2021 unless there has been a change in your family circumstances.

You only need to complete an application form if your child has started or changed schools, a new sibling commencing school or you did not apply in 2020.

Check with the school office if you are unsure or need to collect a form. Forms can be downloaded from school website  under Parents/ Forms   or go to the Victorian Education website https://www.education.vic.gov.au/about/programs/Pages/csef.aspx

OPEROO APP Communication

Operoo is a secure application where parents store all the medical information for their children. Parents share this information with the school. All excursions, camp permissions and information forms are distributed through the Operoo app and parents are able to sign permission forms via their smart phone or computer.

Time consuming medical information forms are no longer required for all school events as staff have access to the most up-to-date information available for each student via their phone for the duration of the event. Parents can update their details and their children's medical status at any time.

All new parents should have received an email prompting them to complete a Operoo profile for their child by signing up and creating an account.  Follow the instructions to create your account. Once this has been done you can then respond to forms and receive messages from St Simon's on any device, including PC’s, tablets and smartphones.

SKOOLBAG App

Is another platform the school uses to send messages and information to parents.

See the attached flyer for information on how to download the App.

Recycle Batteries

There is a small container in the office foyer to put batteries in which will be sent overseas to be recycled and the metal to be reused.

Help us do our part in taking care of our planet by reducing the amount of toxic chemicals that leak from batteries that end up in landfill and pollute our land and water!

Only AA, AAA, C, D & 9V batteries. Let's see how many we can collect!
