Swimming Sport News

Last Friday, 26 students competed at Monash Aquatic Centre.

Everyone was excited because they all wanted to try their best. Overall, St Simons came third out of 8 different schools in the Knox District. Throughout the day St Simon accomplished many achievements.

The first event that took place was the medley relay and the two teams did an outstanding job.

Freestyle was the second stroke event that occurred during the day and all competitors from St Simon’s tried their best but fell a little short of a podium finish.

Backstroke was the next event that occurred during the day. Elijah Aguirre, Sajan Deol and Joel White came second in their races which is a great achievement. We are so proud of Daniela Pulitano and Caitlyn Brown who came first in their 11 year old races for backstroke as well.

The fourth event during the day was Breaststroke, a huge congratulations to Camryn Rabie who came first and Isabella Milne who came third. We witnessed outstanding results in the 11 year old boy and girl freestyle relays teams who blitzed the race, came first in both races and made it to division.

Our last event of the day was butterfly time trials and a huge congratulations to Camryn Rabie who came first and Daniela Pulitano who came second in the same race.

We would like to thank especially all parents for all of the support they have shown during training sessions and even though they could not attend District swimming we felt their support in our hearts.
