From Our Students

PLAY PROGRAM

The PLAY PROGRAM provides our year 4 students with the opportunity to develop leadership, communication and team work skills by organising and running play activities for younger students in years  prep, 1 and 2.

What is it about?

The PLAY PROGRAM is all about getting kids more active and off their screens. The program includes warm-ups, chasing games and so many more fun activities. It also teaches kids how to communicate with each other and play fairly. As well as teaching the younger grades new games, the older students learn how to teach them.

What we did

Last Friday, some of the grade 4 students went to the hall to learn about the play program. First, we learnt some warmup games like 'Sharks and Poison'. Then we did rotations, and we learnt and played different main games, like the 'Parachute' and the 'Cat and Mouse' games. At the end of the day, we did variations of soccer and basketball games.

My personal favourite was the soccer game.

Following the training, the students have now developed a roster to share the responsibility and have already commenced running activities.

Today, our wonderful PLAY Ambassadors gathered quite a large group to play games with the parachute.

Well done to our terrific year 4 students!
