From The Principal

WE WANT OUR STUDENTS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK
We value student voice as a means to improving student engagement, wellbeing and quality instruction and we will be conducting a survey to find out what your child thinks of our school. The Attitudes to School Survey is an annual student survey offered by the Department of Education and Training to assist schools in gaining an understanding of students' perceptions and experience of school. Our school will use the survey results to plan programs and activities to improve your child's schooling experience
Students from Murrumbeena Primary School in Years 4 to 6 will participate in the survey. If your child is in these year levels they will complete the survey online during school hours using a purpose built secure online survey tool. It is important to note that we are not in any way “testing” your child. Your child has the right to refuse or withdraw from the survey at any point before, during, or after completion of the survey.
Your child will be provided with a unique login to complete the survey. All responses to the survey are kept anonymous. Personal identification data will not be recorded in the survey response file. This ensures that the confidentiality of your child’s responses is protected at all times.
This year the Attitudes to School survey will be conducted at our school over the period Monday 20 May to Friday 7 June . The survey only takes about 20-30 minutes to complete and occurs during your child's class time.
The survey results will be reported back to the school before the end of term 2. All survey data that is made available in reports are for groups of students only so that no individual student can be identified.
Last year we used the survey results to plan for future school improvement and give feedback to staff.
If you would like more information, please speak to Chellee Plumb or myself.
MOTHER’S DAY STALL
Thanks to the great team of parents who have volunteered to help out with the 2019 stall and to Elissa Lidstone for putting up her hand to be the main organiser. We know how much our students love taking part in the stall and I am sure Friday morning it will be a hive of activity in the school hall.
EASTER RAFFLE THANK YOU
Many thanks to the parents for the many donations to the Easter Raffle. The $4000 raised from ticket sales will go towards new playground equipment.
The Junior School Council members will be choosing appropriate equipment options, including wheelchair access.
SCHOOL FAIR
We have now begun planning for the event to be held on 9 November. Some parents expressed an earlier interest in their willingness to be involved and at the time we were unsure if it was going ahead. If those parents are now able to email me their details again and outline an area they may be able to help with will we add you to our Fair contact list. foster.lynne.m@edumail.vic.gov.au
AUS KICK AT THE MCG
The Murrumbeena Aus kick group has many MPS students and they will run out on the 'G' on Mother’s Day at half time. This will be a great family day and we wish those students all the best.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR CROSS COUNTRY TEAM
Well done to the students who participated in the Bentleigh District Cross Country yesterday also to the staff and parents who joined them and for Miss Nelson for organising their training sessions.
Two teams were runners up in their age groups-Girls 12 and 13 year old and Boys 12 and 13 year old.
Well done to everyone for their efforts.
ELECTION DAY STALLS
Please check Compass for the note about the Election Day BBQ and cake stall. At our last stall, our cakes sold out quickly so we would love to sell more this year. We hope to encourage our bakers in the community to help us out. Please log onto Compass in the Web Browser version to see all the details.
