Premier’s Reading Challenge

Each year St. Joseph’s School offers our students the opportunity to participate in the Premier’s Reading Challenge.

What is the Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC)?

The PRC is not a competition but a challenge to each student to read, to read more and to read more widely. The Challenge aims to encourage a love of reading for leisure and pleasure, and to enable participants to experience quality literature. This year, the Challenge officially opens on 1st March, 2021 and closes on 20th August, 2021.

Further information will be sent home with your child in the coming weeks and may also be found by visiting the Premier’s Reading Challenge website:

https://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc/home.html

Upon completion of the Challenge, your child will receive a PRC certificate in recognition their achievement.

SORA

Have you had the opportunity to visit SORA yet? SORA provides the students access to a vast library of age appropriate texts simply by logging into their school account and going to the library site or by clicking on the icon above.

Lunch Times

Each Friday at lunch time (second break), the library will be open for those students who would like to take the opportunity to play board games, solve jigsaws or build using the construction equipment. Or perhaps find a quiet corner to read a book!

Library Borrowing

Please don’t forget that FRIDAY is Library Day at St Joseph’s and students will require a library bag on that day for the safe transportation of library books between home and school!
