As mentioned in The Learning Zone, building a strong connection with your school community through respectful relationships, models the value and care you place on your child's education and faith journey.

This journey is rarely without its trials and tribulations. There are times when your child may find school challenging, whether it be in academic areas or social emotional issues. It is at these times when a positive partnership between you and the school is imperative to your child's wellbeing.

If you have concerns regarding your child's experience at school or matters outside school times that may impact on their learning, it is important to respectfully convey these to your child's teachers.

A collaborative approach to meeting the needs of your child is undertaken between you, school staff involved in their learning and any relevant outside agencies. Through this process, it will be determined whether concerns can be addressed within the school or other professionals may need to be involved. Your input is essential to assisting staff make appropriate adjustments where needed.

 

The Catholic Schools Office provides access to: 

  • Speech Pathologist
  • Psychologist

Other health professionals may be accessed through referrals from your GP (eg paediatricians, psychiatrist).
