Foundation

It’s exciting times in Foundation!

We have been busy learning about ‘Sammy Snake-Ss’ and ‘Talking Tess-Tt’ during our morning literacy sessions. We are continuing to practice writing the letters of the alphabet focusing on our pencil grip and ensuring we form the letters correctly. We have sent home 2 laminated handwriting sheets and a whiteboard marker (to be kept at home) to enable some further practice of the alphabet, numbers and students name.

We have been strengthening our fine motor skills by making ‘Sammy Snake’ and teddy bears which have also allowed for the students’ creativity to shine!

In Maths we have been learning about representing data. We got into groups of how many people are in our families and discussed which group had the most and least. We then made Shape Monster Glyphs that represented each individual person.

Our buddies surprised us this week with our German Shultütens. We want to thank our German teachers Frau Taylor and Frau Lindner for their preparation. The students love their Shultütens and enjoy learning new things in German.

SEDA Cricket sessions have started and we have loved trying lots of different activities and learning new skills. We learned about bowling a cricket ball-little star, big star, rock star! We look forward to the next sessions.

Please ensure your child is bringing their reader each day and please support them by completing the yellow take home reading book each night. We hope to have parents return to the classroom soon to support the Take Home Reading Program.

Have a great week!
