School Philosophy

Orchard Grove Primary School is committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment that engages curiosity, promotes learning, personal growth and wellbeing for all students. We strive to develop adaptability and resilience so students can become valued members of the local and global communities and be prepared for future life experiences.

From the Acting Principal

Hello everyone,

We are quickly making our way through Term One here at school! 

Cross country is happening today; Mr Liston has sent out a notification with details via Compass and, given the event is outdoor, we are looking forward to having parents with us cheering the students on. Please remember to maintain social distancing as needed. Years Three to Six will be starting at 9:15am, running in age levels across the morning. Foundation to Year Two will begin at 2:15 pm, running in their year levels. Please check the Compass alert for further details.

We would like to welcome Marika, Ellie and Stephanie who will be working with us as part of the Tutor Learning Initiative. Marika and Stephanie will be with the Year Three and Four students and Ellie will be working with the Year One and Two classes. We will have someone in Years Five and Six as well, but this is still being finalised. Further details of how this program will operate within these levels will be shared with you soon.

We also had our nominations for School Council and, with no more nominations than places, we did not need to go to a vote. Welcome back to Trevor Hookey and Kate Halford, who return to the council, and a big warm welcome to Cathy Tang who will be joining us. 

School photos are coming up on Tuesday 30th March. Please look at the information further in the newsletter regarding online payment options and the packs that are available. The good news is that group photos will be part of the packs again this year.

Before I sign off, I would like to introduce you to the School Captains for 2021, Olive and Jorge.

Hi, my name is Olive. I am in 6DR and I am 11 years old, and I am your 2021 female school captain. I can't wait to do new things and come up with new ideas for our school. Jorge and I are going to make our school a great place to be for everyone!

Hi, my name is Jorge and I will be your 2021 School Captain. I really love playing basketball and I am looking forward to being one of the school captains this year.
