Jane Moloney Reading Award recipients

Every semester we like to acknowledge our most prolific readers in Yrs 7 and 8, so we give a certificate and a book voucher from our local bookstore in Bentleigh – Benn’s Books – to two students who have borrowed and read the most books according to our library catalogue.   

The reading award is named after Jane Moloney, who worked in our library for many years before sadly passing away in 2020. She would have loved having her name attached to this award.   

This semester’s recipients are Ansgar Chan of Yr 7 and Bianca Leeman of Yr 8. Since the start of this year, Ansgar has borrowed and read 79 books, which is mind blowing. And I know he’s read every one because Ms. Hill and I have had long conversations with him about what he’s read. Bianca has borrowed and read 44 novels. This really is so impressive. Congratulations both of you and may books continue to enrich your lives.
