Year 11 VCAL Camp 

On the 13th of July our Year 11 VCAL students set off for camp at The Ranch on the Mornington Peninsula.  Joined by Jamie Calleja-Bailey, Mel Brown, Daniel Guerrieri, Rachele Carrozza and Doug Petley, our students undertook a series of adventure and recreational activities in groups. It was a fantastic experience for our students who have spent 2 years in lockdown. The teachers and students favourite moment of the camp would have to be the camp fire, where we roasted marshmallows and shared our stories and experiences. Horse riding was also a memorable moment for our students with every student challenging themselves and having a go.

“VCAL camp 2022 was a great experience, the school had provided for all the VCAL classes in year 11 to go on a 3 day camp to ranch the ranch was a 2 hour drive from where the school was located. We left on Wednesday morning at 9 am and arrived at the camp at 11 am. As soon as we got off the bus you were welcomed by the cold breeze and fresh air. I was surprised by the camp because it looked amazing and what was more surprising was that we got to go for free!” – Ahmed Haddara

Biggest Morning Tea

At the end of term 2, students from VCAL WRS were completing a project based on their learning intentions relating to ‘The Biggest Morning Tea’. The aim of the event was to raise money for the Cancer Council foundation.

The Year 11 VCAL students ran a sausage sizzle barbecue and morning tea products to the whole school.  The money that we raised is being donated to the Cancer Council foundation. Students raised a total of $200.

Our VCAL students contributed well in preparing and selling The Biggest Morning Tea refreshments and barbecue sausages. The students worked together as a team in creating solutions to problems.
