National Science Week

National Science Week

Our school has been granted a $500 award to run National Science Week 2022

(13th - 21st August). During that week, TSC students will be presenting their projects during lunch and recess for the week.

The theme for this National Science Week is Sustainability in Wyndham City.  Our students have started brainstorming project ideas since Term 2 and participated in a couple of activities related to sustainability, such as Tree Planting during Reconciliation Week and a Cultural Awareness training session facilitated by Wadawurrung Traditional Owner Stephanie Skinner.

This term, a group of students are starting their experiment on creating biodiesel from used vegetable oil. Abel Panniker is the main driver of this project. He collected used oil from the Food Tech kitchen to run the experiment in our Science Lab with the support of Simran, our lab technician, and science teacher, Karl.

We are looking forward to more projects to be completed before 13th August.
