2021 Stage 4 Writing Competition

Year 7 and 8 were invited to take part in a writing competition during the last two weeks of Term 3. They were to use a visual or written stimulus to compose an imaginative text (narrative, letter, poem, picture book) within 500 words. 

In order to successfully complete the task they were expected to: 

  • makes connections to the stimulus 
  • engage the audience in imaginative, interpretive, emotive and/or creative ways
  • maintain a consistent structure appropriate for the type of text selected
  • use a range of stylistic devices for the intended audience
  • use a variety of language forms and features, vocabulary and punctuation forms throughout the piece
  • considers the purpose, audience and context.

We would like to thank all the students who participated in the competition and congratulate the following 6 students on their awards. 1st in the Poetry Category was awarded to Ryan Andrighetto, 2nd Place was awarded to Key Punch Jackson and 3rd Place was awarded to Elif KayaZara Guglielmino was awarded 1st place in the Short Story Category, 2nd Place went to Samuel Raccannello and 3rd Place to Tahlia Salvestro. Congratulations to you all
