2022 Foundation Transition
Transition Dates and Information
With the latest adjustments to the operations guide we are pleased to confirm Teesdale Primary School will be conducting a transition program made up of three sessions.
The transition program is an integral part of preparing 2022 Foundation Students for life at school and signals an exciting time for your child.
During the sessions, students will participate in a series of morning activities, including literacy and numeracy activities, developmental play stations, stories and songs. Where possible, your child will spend time with their teacher for 2022.
To ensure COVID safety in accordance with our School Operations Guide, we ask that only one parent drop off and pick up your child under the cover of the Mudbrick Building (enter from Sutherland Street). Staff will be at the entrance to direct parents and assist with the checking in process. On the morning of the final transition session, your child will receive a resource pack to enjoy exploring over the Summer.
Due to density limitations we are unable to conduct a school tour at this time. Instead we will share a virtual tour as well as tips and tricks for foundation parents in a video in the coming weeks. These will be made available via email, facebook and the Teesdale PS newsletter.
We are looking forward to welcoming you into our school and hope that you can join us. Please let us know if you are not able to attend and we will make alternative arrangements for the passing on of information and resource pack.

Foundation Transition Dates For students starting in 2022
Transition session 1
Monday 22nd November 9:15am-10:15am
All students who intend to enrol at Teesdale Primary School for 2022 are invited to attend this session. Students will participate in songs, games and a literacy activity. Parents drop off and pick up their child under the cover of the mud brick building. Staff will be at the front gate to provide direction and assistance with checking in. We request your assistance with wearing a mask while onsite.
Transition session 2
Monday 29th November 9:15am-10:15am
All students who intend to enrol at Teesdale Primary School for 2022 are invited to attend this session. Students will participate in songs, games and a numeracy activity. This transition will follow the same drop off/pick up routine as the week prior. Again, we ask parents to adhere to the COVID safety protocols of maintaining social distancing advice and wearing face masks whilst onsite.
Transition session 3- Orientation Day
Tuesday 7th December 9:00am- 11am
For those attending Teesdale Primary School in 2022
1. 2022 students arrive at 9:00am for developmental play activities, a literacy and numeracy activity and an explore of the school grounds.
2. On the day, your child will receive a Starting School Pack containing relevant information for starting school in 2022. This will include Book Pack information and fee structure, as well as starting school dates and times for 2022.
3. We ask parents to ensure their child has a broad-brimmed hat and drink bottle for this session.
4. Parents drop off and pick up their child under the cover of the mud brick building. Staff will be at the front gate to provide direction and assistance with checking in.
5. We request your assistance with wearing a mask while onsite.
Enrolment Reminder
If you intend to enrol your child at Teesdale Primary School in Foundation for 2022, please complete enrolment paperwork promptly and return to the office as soon as possible.
