Many thanks from our 2021 P&C

What a year 2021 has been for our P&C! Following on from what was a difficult year for fundraising and events in 2020 we regrouped in 2021 and set out with a plan to organise as many events as possible to bring our community back into the school and make wonderful memories for our kids, all while raising funds towards a nature playground.

Term 1 saw the return of the ever-popular Colour Run and a Hot Cross Bun drive.

In Term 2, we thanked our wonderful mothers with beautiful gifts from the Mother's Day Stall. We ran a Bunnings Sausage Sizzle and held a Quiz Night which was great fun for the adults and raised just over $10 000. The tornado swing was finally installed!

In Term 3 our amazing dads were appreciated with gifts from the Father's Day Stall. We held a Movie Night in the undercover area, ran a raffle for a trampoline, and sold lots of cakes donated by school families at the faction carnivals!

In Term 4 the School Disco returned and was held at the school, the kids had a hoot! We showed our appreciation to the amazing Burrendah teachers with our appreciation apples which were pinned up for them to see, on World Teachers Day. We ran a raffle for an Adventure World season pass, had a Crazy Hair Day, and various Special Canteen Days were held throughout the year. The Bookclub was run all year which feeds resources directly back to our Library.

Stage one of our nature playground is now out for tender and we hope to see some ground broken around Term 1, next year. It will be great to see the hard work and planning come to fruition.

I would like to personally thank the amazing, hard-working P&C volunteers: Karen Harvey, Alison Christensen, Kiara Duvall, Bek Hogan, Bree Sherston, Sara Alag, Peta Turner, Param Kundal, Melissa Carter, and Beatriz Clarke. Without the tireless work of these ladies, all of these events would not have been possible.

I'd also like to thank the parents who heeded the call to help at events throughout the year, and all of our families for supporting these fundraisers - we couldn't do it without you!

I am delighted to announce that this year we raised a total of $34,272.

Please consider joining the P&C in 2022. We are a small group of dedicated parents who achieve much, and are more than happy to welcome new faces and new ideas!! You will be very welcome at our AGM in February.

I hope to see lots of families at our end-of-year picnic this afternoon.

Wishing you all a safe and happy holiday.
