On Thursday 16 June, Years 7 to 9 students gathered in the BPAC auditorium to listen to guest presenter, Susan McLean, one of Australia’s leading experts in cybersafety and young people, speak on the topics of cyberbullying, social media and other relevant topics. Students were encouraged to reflect on this experience by listing a ‘take way’, a ‘stop’, a ‘start’ and a ‘continue’. Ms McLean recommended various strategies to remain responsible and safe on online environments. For instance, using sensible email addresses and not setting your face as your profile picture were two suggestions provided.

Overall, this experience has allowed us, as students, to gain a greater understanding of the online world and the many dangers it holds. We are all very grateful to Ms McLean for providing an entertaining and informative session for us.
