From the Alumnae

Co-Presidents

We have rapidly reached the halfway point in the year, which is a wonderful opportunity to rest, reflect on what has been, and reset for what will be an eventful second half of 2022.

Most recently the alumnae committee has been reflecting on our most recent event, the annual High Tea. The afternoon was an absolute success with many alumnae joining together in the Kirby Centre, celebrating reunions or taking the opportunity to catch up. A very big thank you to all who attended and to our fabulous volunteers from the committee and the staff from the School who supported us on the day. Seeing everyone together has reminded us all of the special ties that unite the Sacré Cœur Alumnae, and renewed excitement for the next round of reunion groups.

Starting in August we look forward to seeing the five reunion group events being held in Term 3: Classes of 1982, 1992, 2002, 2012 and 2021. Please get in touch if you are in these groups and need any of the event details.

In addition to the High Tea, our committee also held our AGM. This year we made the decision to separate the AGM from the High Tea event, to allow the High Tea to be a focused social event. At our AGM we welcomed three new committee members, Brigitte Kourasanis (2014), Lorena Buccella (2018) and Ruby De Luca (2018). We are thrilled to have you on the committee! Sadly, we also farewelled Simone Eason (1989)  who has been a longstanding member of the committee and office bearer as Assistant Treasurer. A very big thank you to Simone for her generous contributions.

Finally, the alumnae committee has celebrated a great achievement - our new Constitution was unanimously voted for in a recent Special General Meeting. What has certainly been a labor of love for several of our committee members, will provide updated governance for our committee. Thank you to everyone involved and to those who attended the meeting.

We hope you all have the opportunity to rest, reflect and reset during this midpoint in the year - so much has been achieved with plenty more to come.
