BE INVOLVED, BE CONNECTED

It has been a fantastic term for the library with lots of new books arriving on our shelves from some wonderful donations. The Magic Animals series has been very popular this term, as well as Harry Potter, Zac Power and, as always, anything to do with Minecraft doesn’t last long in the library before it is borrowed again.

I have been reading the Weird School Daze series and encouraging the Year 2s and 3s to borrow them as they are really funny and thankfully the wacky teachers featured are nothing like our teachers at SMPPS!

I have also started reading the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s

short-listed books in preparation for Book Week next term. So far ‘Stellarphant’ and ‘Huda & Me’ have my votes.

Library Club has been very busy these past few weeks with kids choosing to snuggle up with a book on our beanbags or play some Connect 4 before heading out into the cold for the second half of lunchtime.

While you have some time over the holidays please keep an eye out for any school library books that may have been misplaced. It would be great to begin the term without any overdue books.

Keep reading over the holidays and start thinking about all the great book characters you know. Before we know it, it will be time to dress up for Book Week 2022!
