Junior School

Wow!! It’s been a very busy term in Junior School this term.

The Yr 7’s started the term with Naplan and we are so very proud of the persistence and resilience they showed in undertaking these assessments. They displayed great maturity and excellent behaviour in all assessment tasks. Well done Yr 7’s!!

Since then both the Yr 7’s and 8’s have participated in:

  • Elevate study skills sessions
  • The Hurting Game – anti bullying play
  • Cybersafety presentation
  • Winter interschool sport
  • Cross country interschool event
  • RSC Athletics carnival
  • LBGQTI assembly
  • Skateboarding workshops
  • Museum excursion

Four students recently presented to staff, in a staff meeting, ideas around what makes a classroom successful and what inhibits learning, from their perspective.

We were very proud of the responses they gave and how they conducted themselves. They were all a little nervous.

Well done to Jenny Sawyers, Reilly Power, Caleb Poupos and Josie Wragg for their incite. Staff really enjoyed hearing what they had to say.

Our Yr 7’s will end the Term presenting their Drama performances to the whole cohort on the last day of term. Prizes will be awarded during the performances to participants and the cohort will have a chance to be involved in choosing the winners. We look forward to watching all those involved. Keep learning your lines!!
