Subject selection

As part of Shelford’s commitment to ensuring our students have access to the best possible outcomes, throughout Terms 2 and 3 all senior students participate in a range of information sessions assisting them to make appropriate subject choices for 2023.

Students currently in Years 10 and 11 attended Subject Selection Assemblies at the end of Term 2, and the 2023 VCE Handbook has been disseminated to assist 2023 VCE students prepare for their journey through the final years of secondary schooling. Information has also been made available to parents and carers via Subject Selection Webinars, all of which have been recorded and are available on Shelly for convenience. Please use the new VCE tile on Shelly, which provides access to important information and documentation related to Shelford’s VCE program.

As part of the subject selection process, students in Year 10 have been attending individual meetings with Catherine Freney, our Careers and Future Pathways Coordinator. Students entering Year 11 next year will also have the opportunity to meet with a staff member in a Transition interview on Monday 1 August. Further details regarding registering for these meetings will be available in the coming week. In combination with the Work Experience program and Morrisby testing, these meetings ensure students are supported to make better decisions about their VCE program, courses and careers.

Please be aware that the online subject selection website will open in Week 3, Term 3. Students will be emailed instructions on how to access and complete their subject selection.
