Performing Arts update

I’d like to warmly welcome everyone back for Term 3, I hope everyone had a restful and relaxing break. Of course, filled with lots of practice!

 

House Performing Arts Festival

This week, is arguably the biggest event of the year (well, according to the girls!), with House Performing Arts on Friday 29 July. It is always a great night and we are thrilled to hold our first House Performing Arts Festival since 2019. It is expected that all Senior School students attend, even if they are just singing in the House song.

Senior Strings

I would like to congratulate Ms Dixon-Lawrence and the Senior String students for their stellar performance at the Victorian School Music Festival on Monday 25 July. The group was awarded a Gold plaque, which is truly a testament to the hard work of the staff and students.

 

On Thursday afternoon Corelli Strings will be performing at the VSMF and of course we wish them all the best of luck.

Upcoming concerts

Please save the dates for our upcoming concerts. More information will be available to parents closer to the concerts.

 

Band and Strings Concert – Tuesday 30 August

This will involve students in the Year 3/4 String Program, Year 5 and 7 Band Program, as well as the Senior and Junior String and Band groups. Tickets will be available from 16 August.

 

Choral workshop – Saturday 10 September

For all students in Senior Choir, Sheltones and Inter and Senior Harmony there is a rehearsal day on Saturday 10 September. 

 

Choral Concert – Tuesday 13 September

For all choral groups, as well as students in the Year 3–6 Choir and Year 7 and 8 Choral Program, there will be a Choral Concert at Shelford on Tuesday 13 September. 

AMEB awards

I would like to congratulate the following students for recently sitting their AMEB exam. It requires no short amount of hard work and practice, from both the student and teacher, to prepare for them:

  • Lucy Y – Grade 3 Viola Comprehensive
  • Olivia B – Grade 2 Violin Comprehensive
  • Misha P – Preliminary Cello Comprehensive
  • Katerina B – Preliminary Cello Comprehensive
  • Christina M – Preliminary Double Bass Repertoire
  • Joyce F – Grade 6 Double Bass Repertoire
