Term 2 Week 8 2022 – Friday 16th June

What have we been up to?

The past 2 weeks have flown by! We have been in a whirlwind of assessment and starting to wind down for the end of the term. In Reading and Writing the 1/2 students focused on retelling and sequencing a story. They made sure they included as much detail focusing on the 5 W’s (test their memory see if they can tell you what they are!) They also used their knowledge of the 5 W’s to help them plan and write a recount. In Maths they investigated number and capacity through trying to help their teacher figure out why their soup didn’t taste like grandma’s. *Spoiler alert* it turns out everyone’s handful is different and grandma needs to be more specific next time! Well done on another fabulous fortnight 1/2 students the countdown is on for the holidays. The teachers wish you and your families a safe and restful break. We cannot wait to hear all about the fun you get up to when we start back at school for Term 3!

Here are some photo highlights from the fortnight that was!

How much macaroni is ‘A HANDFUL?’ 1/2A measured it out and then compared their handfuls and ordered them from smallest to largest.

We grouped Macaroni into equal sized groups

What’s coming up?

The last week of Term 2 will be a week for teachers and students to tie up their learning for the semester. They will finish writing pieces, consolidate comprehension skills and reflect on what they have learnt in Science and Inquiry about changes to the globe and changes through history from the past to the present.
