From the Principal

Our Vision

Each child has a gift or talent. It is our job to find it and to show it to them.

Our Mission

Identify the talent, develop the confidence and create the leader.

What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other?

Dear parents and carers,

Curriculum Day

Last Tuesday's Curriculum Day was fruitful. Staff members participated in 7 Habits of Highly Effective People learning programs, lead by Marisha Telegin. Professional Learning Team Leaders facilitated the planning of term 3 curriculum program content. The principal class members met with Kingston Heath and Cheltenham East Primary School leadership teams, to discuss school enrolment zoning, school marketing and relationships between the schools. Some staff participated in Effective Primary Numeracy Interventions professional learning.

Parent Social Night

Last night many parents and staff got together to enjoy a meal at The Bay in Mordialloc. The Social and Fundraising Committee did an excellent job facilitating the event.

Semester 1 Reports

Student reports are now on Compass.

Parent and Teacher Meetings

On Monday parents, carers and teachers will meet to celebrate student learning. Students on Individual Education Plans will have Student Support Group Meetings in the last two weeks of term.

Woolworths Grant Success

Education Support Teachers Kelli Colvin and Anna Ottersbach were awarded a Junior Land-care Grant of $800. The application purpose was to support the Student Green Team, in the development of their new vegetable garden.

Cultural Studies

The students have begun a 6 week focus on Indigenous Studies.

Footsteps

Next term the students will participate in the weekly educational and fun dance program.

School Tours

Tours continue to be scheduled, in some cases multiple tours each day. The word of mouth in the local community and beyond, is that Le Page Primary is highly inclusive. Various NDIS specialists have been recommending Le Page Primary School to prospective parents. Brooke has posted a reminder on Compass for Le Page Primary School parents with children starting Foundation in 2023, to submit enrolment forms, as 2023 workforce planning begins in term 3.

Staff Going on Leave

Kayla Mugford is taking personal leave in the last week of term 2. Anna Ottersbach is taking personal leave for the first three weeks of term 2. Marisha Telegin begins maternity leave on Tuesday July 12th. She will be initially replaced by Gillian Phillips our tutor facilitator, for the first four weeks of term 3. Emily Tremewen, currently 34B’s Education Support Teacher, and now a qualified teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, will continue as the grade’s teacher in week five, after returning from personal leave. Emily will teach 34B through to the end of the year. A new Education Support Teacher will be confirmed shortly.

Have a great weekend everyone.
