Welcome Back
Welcome back to all our families for Term 2. I hope that everyone had a great break and are ready for another exciting term.
Week 1 was a little hectic due to a few changes over the holidays. I would like to congratulate Belinda Adams for accepting the role as Principal at Seaford K-7 during Term 2 and thank Leanne Winning and Mike Tarleton for the excellent work they did running the school last week. This is testament to the exceptional staff we have at LNPS.
I am currently in the process of staffing the Deputy Principal position and hope to announce this to the school community in the near future.
Tomorrow we will be holding the 2015 Sports Day at Henley Oval. This is a huge event that takes a large amount of organisation and coordination. If you have time we would appreciate any support that families may be able to provide to ensure a successful event for our students. Please let Bill Georgaris or Anton Starr know on the day if you are able to help. Good luck to all our students tomorrow and don’t forget ‘Aim High’.

NAPLAN
NAPLAN testing will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 12th - 14th May. These tests are undertaken by Years 3, 5 and 7 to show a snapshot of learning.
The tests are one of many assessments which we use to review learning in Literacy (Reading, Spelling, Grammar, Punctuation and Writing) and Numeracy. All tests are conducted under supervised test conditions with students completing them independently.
To ensure that your child is at their best, a good amount of sleep and breakfast are essential. This should not be a time for additional pressure on students and staff will continue to expect children to do their usual best.
Parents have the right to withdraw their child from the test if they feel that there is a valid reason for not undertaking it, such as learning difficulties or recognised disabilities. If you have any concerns about this, please discuss them with your child’s class teacher. Leadership are also here to assist if further advice is sought after talking to the class teacher. All exemption forms need to be completed by Friday 8th May. Catch up tests (for students who are absent) will be held on Friday 15th May.
2015/2016 Entertainment Book School Fundraiser
LNPS will be holding the Entertainment Book fundraiser once again. Books are now available from the front office. Parents/caregivers can fill out their details on the attached order form or buy direct from the front office, or order online. Every book purchase raises $13.00 for our School. What a great idea for a 'Mother's Day' gift!
