St Brendan's Parish Sacramental Program
We continue to keep the children and families who are on their Sacramental journey in our thoughts and prayers. Last weekend the children were presented at St Brendan’s Church to mark the beginning of their preparation and commitment towards their final Sacrament of Eucharist First Communion. Over the next four weeks children will prepare for their First Communion which involves them revisiting their experiences of Baptism and Confirmation and building upon them.
Children will make their Sacrament of Eucharist First Communion on Saturday 20th August 5:15pm or Sunday 21st August 10:15am. As a School Community we are welcome to attend these Masses at St Brendan’s Church to support the children and their families.
Here is some of the wonderful work the children have completed at home as they worked through the Steps in Faith and Our Family Prepares program.

“I will follow you wherever you go."
A reading from the holy gospel according to Luke 9:57-62
I will follow you wherever you go.
Along the way to Jerusalem someone said to Jesus, "I'll go anywhere with you!"
Jesus said, "Foxes have dens, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man doesn't have a place to call his own."
Jesus told someone else to come with him. But the man said, "Lord, let me wait until I bury my father." Jesus answered, "Let the dead take care of the dead, while you go and tell about God's kingdom."
Then someone said to Jesus, "I want to go with you, Lord, but first let me go back and take care of things at home."
Jesus answered, "Anyone who starts plowing and keeps looking back isn't worth a thing in God's kingdom!"
The Gospel of the Lord.
Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
Reflecting on the Gospel
Following Jesus isn’t always easy.
When you have a problem, who do you ask for help?
Jesus helps us through other people.
Think of all the people who love you and help you grow.
Spend some quiet time in prayer, thanking God for these wonderful people.
