Music Update 

Interesting music fact:   Children who study music tend to have larger vocabularies and more advanced reading skills than their peers who do not participate in music lessons. (Arete Music Academy 2014)

BRASS LESSONS

We are fortunate to have secured a brass teacher for the remainder of the year. Mr Ian Hodgson is joining the EMC music teaching team after a long career with the Air Force Band playing French Horn.

Any Year 7 students who would like to trial a brass instrument need to contact Ms Simmonds in the music department to organise a trial lesson: catherine.simmonds@education.vic.gov.au

MID-YEAR MUSIC CONCERT

This year we will again be recording our mid-year concert performances during the day on the 13th and 14th of June. These performances will be live streamed so parents, family and friends can watch from anywhere! The times of the live stream will come out in early June. All of the students in the music program will be involved in this event with their ensemble. The recordings will then all be edited together into a concert which will be made available early in term 3.
