2023 College Athletics Carnival.

On Monday May 16 Mornington Athletics track played host to the 2023 College Athletics Carnival.

The weather was on our side with perfect conditions for all students to get involved and thrive throughout the day. The day saw the annual Year 12 dress ups with our sports captains and senior cohort choosing “TV and Film Icons” as their theme for the day and students did not hold back!

Our senior cohort lead by example with a fantastic turn out and finished the day off with a Staff v Student relay race- which may have seen the Year 12s cross the line first, however Mr. Riggs has questioned the student’s 2nd change so we may have to wait to confirm the result!

The day saw the whole college, staff and students, get into the spirit of the house carnival. From Mr. G as the Riddler representing Myamba and Mr. Campain dying his beard red to support Allinga, it was fantastic to see staff and students wear their house colours with pride.  For our Year 7s, it was their first Athletics Carnival at EMC and was fantastic to see so many students get involved in events throughout the day.

A massive shout out to all students that attended the day. Whether you ran, jumped, threw or supported peers throughout the day, you helped make the atmosphere on the day electric. There were some outstanding performances throughout that will see EMC send an incredibly strong Athletics team to Division athletics carnival later this year.

Thank you to all staff for their involvement and making the event run so smoothly.

On behalf of the EMC sports team, congratulations to all participants!

Bring on Division Athletics!
