Grade 6 Canberra Camp
24th - 28th April 2023
The Grade Sixes had a wonderful week at Canberra Camp. We were lucky enough to fly to Canberra from Melbourne Airport. The weather in Canberra was excellent. We had beautiful sunny days all week. We visited many places such as the High Court, Parliament House, Mount Ainslie, Australian Institute of Sport, The Royal Mint, War Memorial, Cotter Dam and National Museum of Australia. We were also fortunate enough to be able to attend the Dawn Service at the War Memorial on Anzac Day. Well done to all the Grade Six students for a fantastic week. We hope you'll remember this camp for a long time. A big thank you to all the teachers that attended Mr Johnson, Mrs Milanese, Mr Spinks, Miss Spitiri, Miss El-bay, Mr O'Callaghan and Miss Curtolo. A huge thank you to Mrs Corfios for her organisation and co-ordination of the camp.

Dear me,
At camp you stepped out of your comfort zone by thanking the staff in front of everyone at the Electoral Office. At first you didn’t believe in yourself but your teacher chose you because he knew you would be able to do it. You should be proud of yourself for keeping your cabin clean. You answered questions and behaved really well. You loved visiting the shop at Questacon and the Royal Australian Mint because you learnt about the first ever coin in Australia.

Dear me,
At camp you showed kindness and resilience and stepped out of your comfort zone by answering questions and talking to people who you usually don’t. You didn’t complain when the food given was some you don’t like. You answered questions when you were unsure. You surprised yourself by being confident at camp and talking to the teachers. You missed your family but pushed through and had fun, I am so proud of you.

Dear me,
You should be proud of yourself for answering questions and being kind to other people at camp. You should be proud being grateful to go on camp. You should be proud of yourself for eating all the meals. You showed independence by cleaning your cabin and taking care of your things. You showed respect at the war memorial. Good job!
