Teaching and Learning in 2D

Grade 2D has been working hard and having fun while learning new things throughout the year.

On Monday we participated in an ANZAC Day service at school. It is a solemn occasion where students and staff came together to pay their respects to the fallen soldiers, and to honor their courage and sacrifice. Students used their creative flair reflect on the values of bravery, mate ship, and sacrifice that are associated with this special day.

2D students also participated in First Aid in Schools program which has been designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to respond in the event of an emergency. The program is aimed at empowering students to take responsibility for their own well-being, and to help others in need.

Last term in Reading, we read Charlotte's Webb to create connections to the self, the world, and other texts. We are currently exploring the author’s purpose.

We have also been working on our writing skills, which include letter formation, adjectives, nouns, punctuation and grammar, to make our writing more interesting.

In Numeracy, we have been learning about place value, time and we are currently learning about fractions and how to identify and compare them.

We have been enjoying our science lessons, where we have been learning about the water cycle. We even got to do a science experiment, which included making a hypothesis!

We have been enjoying our specialist classes and learning new skills.

We would like to say a big thankyou to all the parents / carers and guardians who are supporting us with our home learning.

Stay tuned for more updates about 2D.

Until then, stay kind and keep learning!
