R.E. News

Last week we had an Information Session for families who have their child making the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation.

The session was run by Denise Arnell who spoke about importance of the three Sacraments through art. One of the key messages that Denise spoke about was trying to spend each day living out the Sacraments in your daily life.

This Term we will be celebrating the first of our Sacraments for the year with the Sacrament of Eucharist on Sunday 28th May at the 10:00 am Parish Mass in St Martin de Porres Church. We pray for these students as they prepare for this important Sacrament.

Mother’s Day

Mother's Day is a celebration where we honour the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. On Mother’s Day, let us pray for all our mothers and special women. Let us remember that we have a Mother in heaven, the Blessed Virgin Mary. May the Mother given to us by Jesus on the cross be ever at our side!

Next Friday 12th of May we will be celebrating Mother’s Day through a liturgy led by 1/2C. 1/2C students have planned the liturgy and have chosen/written all the prayers and songs for this liturgy. Please come and join this celebration at 8:50am in the Church.

Prayer for Mothers

Loving God, we thank you for the love of the mothers you have given us, whose love is so precious that it can never be measured,

whose patience seems to have no end.

Help all mothers to raise their children to be

the people they are born to be.

Thank you for mothers who gave birth to us, and women who have treated us

as their own children.

We ask you to bless them with

your own special love.

God of mothers, who created mothers,

who came as a child and had a mother,

hear our prayer, Amen.

Farwell to Fr Joseph

This week we said farewell to our assistant Parish Priest Fr. Joseph. We thank Fr. Joseph for being a great faith role model to the students. On Monday he went to all the classrooms to say goodbye to all the students. We wish him all the best at his new Parish at St Monica’s Parish, Moonee Ponds and St Vincent de Paul Parish, Strathmore.

On the 8th of May we welcome our new assistant parish priest Fr. Samuel Kapina and look forward to him working closely with our school community.
